Performance Proposal — May 2026

The Only
Opponent
That Matters
Is You.

Mental performance isn't a finishing touch. It's the foundation everything else is built on. The organizations that prioritize it — win.

Obsessed With One Thing.

We design programs for athletes, coaches, and organizations that want to perform at their absolute highest potential. That's it. That's the whole job.

What we've learned — after more than a decade in rooms with world-class athletes, coaches, and competitive programs at every level — is that the mental side isn't soft. It's the last true edge. The physical gets coached. The tactical gets filmed. The mental gets the least attention.

We're here to change that — one program at a time, built specifically for the group we're working with.

We ask questions first, then offer ideas. Never the other way around.

We don't walk in with answers. We walk in with curiosity — and we don't start designing until we've spent real time getting to know your players, your staff, and what makes your culture tick.

You Already Know
the Mental Side Matters.

Most professional clubs — Oakland Roots included — already have some version of mental performance covered. You have smart, dedicated people working with athletes individually. That work is real, and it matters.

We take that work that's already being done and build systems around it — to complement it, and make it go further. A shared curriculum, language, and framework that the entire group builds together over time.

Think of it less like adding a new staff member and more like giving your existing mental performance work a structure the whole team can train inside of — together, consistently.

We work alongside the resources you already have in place. Not in place of them.

The Oakland Roots
Engagement.

Phase 01
Discovery Visit
No Cost

We come to Oakland. Watch training. Sit with your coaching staff and performance team. Talk to your players. Ask the questions that matter — and listen hard to the answers.

Every conversation gets recorded. We use that material — alongside hundreds of hours of science-backed research — to find the through-line: the themes, the gaps, the specific mental performance challenges unique to your club.

We don't start designing a program until this step is done. Every club is different. We treat it that way.

Phase 02
Program Design

Based on what we learn in discovery, we build a program specifically for Oakland Roots SC — using our Season Zero and Season One principles as the backbone, shaped around what we actually heard from your people.

Not a template. Not a package off a shelf. Built for you.

Phase 03
On-Site Intensive

We return for a focused on-site session — typically 3 hours — with the full group. Multiple principles, real depth, and the conversations that need to happen in person. This is where the work lands.

Phase 04
Ongoing Support

We don't show up and leave. Once the intensive is done, we stay connected through a tiered support structure — regular check-ins, individual work, and continued development.

Mental performance is a practice, not an event. We're built for the long game.

Season Zero:
Six Principles.

To give you a sense of what the work looks like — here's a sample program structure we've developed called Season Zero. Think of this as a starting point, not a prescription. The actual program gets built after the discovery visit.

01 Process Over Results Reframes success around what players can control. Builds resilience when the scoreboard isn't going their way.
02 Simplify Cuts through overthinking and external pressure. Teaches players to get present and trust their training.
03 Mental Shift Acknowledge, release, reset — as a trainable skill. How fast can you bounce back after a mistake?
04 Imagery Mental rehearsal as a performance tool. Building mental muscle memory the same way you build physical reps.
05 Self Talk Training the internal conversation intentionally. Players have something to hold onto when the moment gets big.
06 Consistency Showing up with the same standard when no one's watching. The foundation everything else is built on.

These principles get applied differently for every group. The sequence, the depth, the examples used — all of it gets shaped by what we find in discovery.

Program Options
Worth Exploring.

Every engagement looks different — and we won't know what the right structure is until we've done the discovery visit and understand what Oakland Roots actually needs. But here's a sense of what's possible.

Option 01
One-Time Intensive

A single focused session — typically 3 hours — with the full group. Designed around a specific challenge or goal. High impact, no ongoing commitment required.

Option 02
Season Program

A structured program with a clear arc. Opens with the intensive, followed by regular team check-ins — monthly or weekly depending on depth — to keep the work active and evolving.

Option 03
Full Partnership

Everything in the season program, plus individual work with specific athletes or coaches — personalized sessions, visualization scripts, and process plans built around each person's specific needs.

The right fit depends entirely on what we find in discovery. We'd rather build something that actually works than sell a package before we've asked a single question.

The Clubs That
Build This First
Win.

The organizations that separate themselves over the next five years aren't always the ones with the biggest budget. They're the ones building a performance culture — physical, tactical, and mental — that players want to be part of.

We're selective about who we work with. We want to go deep, not wide. And we'd love to find out if Oakland Roots is the right fit.

All we're asking for is the discovery visit. No commitment. No pressure. Just a conversation — and really good questions.

Next Step: Let's schedule the discovery visit.
